Stock Footage Sites Improve Usability, Speed

Munich-based stock footage company Framepool has re-launched its Web site, which was recently restructured to facilitate search of its collection of 3000 hours of footage. The new site features an advanced search engine, previews, and “shot lists— a kind of wish list for clips you might want to purchase.

Overall the new system is easy-to-use with a nice interface and intuitive design. Also it gets points for that amazing clip of aborigine dancers on the site’s home page!

Thought Equity Motion recently started using Sun StorageTek to improve its digital archive and on-demand delivery system. Sun touts this recent development as quadrupling its speed and advanced storage density for easy delivery to many a satisfied customer. With 5000 new clips being added each week, Thought Equity certainly makes use of such a high performance storage system.

Be aware, however, that for both sites British and American spellings of keywords might make a difference in your search results. For instance the Framepool site prefers the spelling behaviour, not behavior, and a search for theater might give different results than one for theatre.
