DGA Alerts UPMs of New Commercial Rule

DGA members planning on taking work as unit production managers for any commercial jobs should be aware of a new union provision regarding the guild’s qualification list. IATSE Organizes E!, Extends Deal With Arclight

IATSE has entered an agreement to organize the crew that E! Networks hires to cover telecasts of special events such as The Oscars and Golden Globes. The accord, which will include camera, sound and videotape crew, is part of the union’s ongoing efforts to organize live shows such as those for awards and sports.

The union has also announced its signing of an agreement with Arclight Cinema employees to include movie projectionists. Currently there is an agreement in place that covers projector maintenance workers, but that agreement did not cover the projectionists themselves.
