currently seeking character and story-driven films with strong acting for its
9th annual festival to be held in Calabasas,

The American Society of Cinematography will recognize Michael
Ballhaus with its International Achievement Award during the Annual ASC
Outstanding Achievement Awards celebration on February 18, 2007. The German-born
cinematographer, whose work includes “Broadcast News,” “The Fabulous Baker Boys”
and “Gangs of
New
York,”
is known for his artful approach and the breadth of his work worldwide.
Panavision Acquires Another Company
Panavision has just announced that it will acquire camera,
lighting and studio company AFM group. The agreement was signed in early
November, but the acquisition is expected to be completed over the next several
months. This marks the second acquisition of the season, as the company recently
joined forces with high def equipment company Plus 8 Digital in October.
