The American Film Institute has announced a new program that
would facilitate exchange and collaboration among international filmmakers who
are participating in this year’s AFI Fest. Project 20/20 is intended to promote
cross cultural understanding and awareness whiled developing the filmmakers’
craft. Participants of Project 20/20 will be announced at AFI FEST 2006, to be
held Nov. 1–12 in Hollywood,
CA.
The
project will include support from President’s Committee on the Arts and the
Humanities, The National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for
the Humanities and the Institute
of Museum
and Library Services.
“We

Arts and the Humanities, the State Department and the National Endowment for the
Arts. We are proud with AFI PROJECT: 20/20 to expand international exchanges and
collaborations and enhance global understanding and communication among the
world’s filmmakers,” said Jean Picker Firstenberg, AFI’s President and CEO in a
release last month.
