Slamdance Teleplay Competition

The Slamdance Teleplay competition is calling for submissions for their scriptwriting contest in which the Grand Prize is a television script deal with Fox. The prize will be based on Writers Guild of America's scale fee of $30,000 for a ½ hour or $45,000 for a one hour series pilot. Early deadline is Aug. 11, 2006 and late deadline is Sept. 8, 2006. Slamdance Film Festival

Slamdance Film Festival is currently accepting submissions of all genres for its 2007 event, which will be held from Jan. 18-27 in Park City, UT. The early deadline is Aug. 28 and final deadlines are Oct. 10 for Shorts and Oct. 16 for features. The entry form and more information can be found on their Web site at www.slamdance.com.

African American Women in Cinema

African American Women in Cinema has announced its call for submissions of films and screenplays for its Ninth Annual African American Women in Cinema Film Festival.

The festival, which will take place October 26th - 28th, 2006, New York City, will feature screenings and keynote panels. The deadline for submissions is Aug. 31. Application and more information is available at http://www.aawic.org/about/submissions.shtml.
