The
Association of Independent Video Producers has announced its closure following
unsuccessful efforts to raise enough cash to sustain operations. The NY-based
organization expressed its intentions to continue its publication, The
Independent, and is currently exploring options to that effect. Other efforts
are being made to continue health care beyond 2006, as well as possibly offer
current members alternatives, such as benefits or complimentary memberships,
through like-minded organizations.
