Anamatronics Exhibit
at the Academy
The Academy of Motion
Pictures Arts and Sciences is currently presenting
“It’s Alive!: Bringing Animatronic Characters to Life on Film,” an exhibit
featuring models, concept art, storyboards, video clips as well as the
animatronic creatures themselves. Characters represented include those from “The
Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” “The Hitchhiker’s
Guide to the Galaxy,” “Labyrinth,” “Little Shop of Horrors,” and
“Jurassic
Park,” among others. The exhibit runs
through Sunday, August 20,
2006, at the Academy.
Hollywood Horror,
Sci-Fi and Fantasy Festival Call for Entries
The Hollywood Film Festival, along with Film Threat Magazine,
are currently accepting submissions for the Hollywood Horror, Sci-Fi and Fantasy
Festival, which will take place October 20–22 at the Arclight Cinemas in
Hollywood. Applications are available through the Hollywood Horror Film Festival
Web site.
Directors to Present
Game-Show Style Program at AICP Premiere
Stacy Wall of Epoch Films and Hank Perlman of Hungry Man will
give a joint presentation in the form of a game show at the AICP Show &
Lecture Series at The Museum of Modern Art in New
York, on June 8. The presentation, part of the AICP
Directors Lecture series, will feature audience participants spinning a wheel
and answering questions for cash and other prizes. Tickets are available through

ASIFA-Hollywood
Presents Animation Storyboard Art Exhibit
The ASIFA-Hollywood
Animation Archive is presenting “Animation Archive: Art of the Storyboard
Exhibit” now through the month of June. The exhibit will feature art from such
shows as “The Flintstones,” “The Yogi Bear Show” and “Ren and Stimpy.” The
Archive is located at 2114 Burbank
Blvd in
Burbank and viewings are on Tuesdays
and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
