Fox Ahead of the HD Game By Melinda McCrady Fox Sports Network has made much news in the high def world lately by increasing its production and availability of HD programming, all while keeping an eye on costs.		Fans will soon get their hockey fix in HD


Possible Filming Fee Waiver in Los Angeles’ Future According to the Los Angeles Times and a statement released by the mayor’s office of Los Angeles, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa made an announcement at the end of October that would affect anyone shooting in government-owned buildings in Los Angeles. His plan is to make sure that current filming fees, which totaled $187,000 for the last fiscal year, to shoot in a government-owned building will be waived for production projects in the future.

Around Town In March 2006, Sony will release a high definition version of the XDCAM system, which they have dubbed the fastest growing tapeless acquisition system in the world. The new XDCAM HD system will incorporate the same workflow capabilities as its SD predecessor and consists of one camcorder and two decks featuring 24P acquisition. www.sony.com The new Canon XL H1 high definition camcorder is available for purchase this month. Its release marks the first time Canon has created a HD video camera.
