On Saturday, July 30, the Producers Guild of America's Film USA committee hosted a seminar entitled "Courting America." The goal of the seminar was to raise awareness of the strong production incentives in states across the country including Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina and Vermont.Robert Dowling of the Hollywood Reporter moderated the event. Keynote speaker was Mitch Landrieu, Lieutenant Governor of Louisiana, who, according to a release form the PGA, has been a strong advocate for the successful film tax credit program in his home state.
"Thanks to smart incentives and an internationally competitive recruitment program" said Landrieu, Louisiana is reaping the economic benefits of a burgeoning film industry. I am pleased to have the opportunity to share our success with the PGA and to go back to Hollywood and market Louisiana to the industry."
