14th Annual AICP Show

Now in its 14th year, the AICP Show—The Art and Technique of the American Television Commercial—was created to honor excellence in advertising. This year's show reel features original music by Michael Montes of Sacred Noise and graphics by rhinofx. The show begins in New York and will continue its tour across the United States.

AMPAS Shuts Down Stunt Community's Hope for Oscar Recognition

The stunt community continued its battle for the addition of a "Best Stunt Coordinator Category" to the Oscar ballot by staging a picket line outside the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences at the end of June.

What was once the site of Barwick Studios has recently been taken over by Quixote Studios. The 5.4 acre production facility stands at 4585 Electronics Place and features 80,000 square feet of sound stages, 18,000 square feet of furnished offices and a large parking lot. Plans are underway to add pipe grids, cyclorama walls and dressing facilities.

Post Logic recently appointed Kelvin Duckett as managing director of its Hollywood facility. Other new hires also include executive producer Peter McEvoy and vice president of sales Cheryl Brady. Duckett's most recent position was director of post production services at Weller Grossman Productions. According to Post Logic Studios president Steve Hendricks, additions to staff coincide with the rollout of a multimillion dollar capital expansion for Post Logic Studios that will also include the acquisition of new film scanners and recorders, 2K and 4k color correction and a new storage area. www.postlogic.com.
