Dear 411 Update Reader,
As we head swiftly toward the end of the year, the crisper air, even here in
Los Angeles, the imminent holidays and the anticipation of a sparkling 2005, all
make it a natural time to look back on the production year that has past.
As the new editor of the 411 Update, I’ve had the privilege of corresponding
with many of our listees in order to impart some of their production wisdom with
the rest of our readers. Jack Fisher of City Lights Media, Andreas Wacker of
Method Studios and Billy Baldwin of PostWorks, NY are just three of the many
people who offered their insight into the technical side of the production world
and to whom I am very grateful for their time and energy.
In this roundup issue of the Newsletter, we’ve chosen two spotlight articles
from the past year that we feel best represent the kind of people in the
production community—Tanja Barnes, Dorianna Richman, Adriana Aguiar and Scott
Floman—whose integrity and innovation help create magical films and are the
backbone of our production directories.
Please look out for the January edition of our newsletter, when we will begin
the nomination process to elect our 2005 411 Advisory Committee. This Committee
will be made up of production community experts who will convene in order to
help further develop the content of the LA and NY directories.
On behalf of everyone here at 411 Publishing, we’d like to thank you for your
enthusiastic interest over the past year, and to offer our warmest wishes for a
healthy holiday season and a happy and prosperous new year.
Best Wishes,
Miranda Taylor Content and Newsletter Editor 411 Publishing

Production schedules never slow down. The stress and constant hustle of a
12-hour day on the set can make even the most laid-back cast or crew member
loose their cool. State-of-the-art trailers and dressing rooms, craft service
menus that cater to everyone's dietary needs and wants, and even divine massage
therapy services are becoming the norm these days, not the exception.
