2004 EXPO will include various panel discussions. The first
is titled “Global HD Hot Spots—the Opportunities, Enablers and Barriers.”
Presented by BT Broadcast Services, the “Global HD Hot Spots” discussion will
include panelist Bill McNamara and will be moderated by Mark Turner. Among the
topics to be discussed: the global investment picture, the global regulatory
landscape, a region-by-region breakout of HD and HD sector hot spots.
“Advertising $$” is presented by Probel where issues of
product placement and branding will be discussed as well as advertising issues
surrounding TiVo and other commercial skipping devices. Another panel will
include a discussion about reality television and how HD impacts the creative
process and what bearing it has on reality television specifically. Panelists
will include executive producers of reality TV shows, “Survivor” and the
“Amazing Race,” among others.
The “HDTV, Past, Present and Future” discussion features a
panel of HDTV pioneers and experts who will focus on developments in HDTV and
the integration of HD systems for advanced networks. HDTV Pioneer Robin Ore who
has worked in HD for more than 20 years will moderate this particular
discussion.
Finally, the HD 101 Workflow Workshop will cover everything
from budgeting in HD to covering your deliverables.
